Happy July 4th

from Fairhaven, NY, 1973!

I knew I had a July 4th photo somewhere in the box of old photos!!  OK, no flags waving but...

This was taken at my Aunt and Uncle's summer cottage on Little Sodus Bay off of Lake Ontario.  My family went there nearly every 4th to watch the parade, the fireworks, and of course do a little boating!  It was always a fun time and even more so for a number of years when my Uncle was the mayor of the town (a summer gig mostly).  We would go out to visit Mr. Fish, (that's what I remember his name being for real) who owned the fancy house on the point where the fireworks were always shot off from.  I remember it like yesterday, so for me, that means it was pretty fun and special.  I miss everything about it every 4th.

I think the best part is actually the back of the photo where my Great Grandmother (G.G. as we called her) wrote the details of the who/what/where.  And what would a July 4th weekend log entry be without fireworks!  This is from 2009 in St. Mary's anchored out on CALIX in Horseshoe Bend.
